Notifications

Gigtime notifies you three ways: push notifications on your devices, email, and an in-app notification center (the bell icon). Push and email are configurable per notification type; the in-app feed shows everything.

Notification types

Under Settings → Notifications, each type has independent Push and Email checkboxes (all on by default):

TypeWhen it fires
Timer RemindersYour timer has been running for a long time — configurable: after 2, 4, 6, 8 (default), 10, or 12 hours.
Invoice OverdueAn invoice goes past its due date unpaid.
Invoice ViewedA client opens your invoice email.
Time to InvoiceYou have billable hours sitting uninvoiced for more than a week.
Weekly SummaryA Monday recap of last week's logged hours.
Log Hours ReminderYou haven't logged anything in a while — configurable: after 1, 2 (default), 3, or 5 working days.

A separate Marketing & News card controls product-update emails, and a read-only System Emails card lists the messages that always send regardless of preferences: password reset, email verification, and account deletion notices.

The notification center

The bell icon opens your notification feed, with a count of unread items. Unread notifications are tinted and dotted; click one (or hover and hit the check) to mark it read. Mark all as read and Clear all live in the header.

On phones and tablets, swipe right on a notification to mark it read, left to delete it.

Push notifications on mobile

Push requires notification permission, which iOS and Android request the first time you sign in on the device. If you declined and want them back, enable notifications for Gigtime in your device's system settings — the in-app checkboxes can't override a system-level block.
