Profile and security

The My Profile page (from the app's user menu) holds your personal details and security controls, split into two tabs.

Personal Information

Edit your full name, phone, department, and location, then click Save. Your email address is shown here but can't be changed from this screen — if you need to move your account to a new address, contact support@gigtime.app.

Changing your password

On the Security tab, enter a New Password, confirm it, and click Update Password. If you've forgotten your current password entirely, sign out and use Forgot password? on the login screen instead.

Two-factor authentication

Gigtime supports TOTP-based two-factor authentication — the standard "6-digit code from an authenticator app" kind. With 2FA on, a stolen password alone isn't enough to get into your account.

To enable it:

  1. Go to My Profile → Security and click Enable under Two-Factor Authentication.
  2. Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, or any TOTP app. Can't scan? A manual-entry secret is shown below the code.
  3. Type the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify & Enable.

From then on, signing in asks for a code from your app after your password.

A few things to know:

  • Codes rotate every 30 seconds; if one is rejected, wait for the next and try again. A wildly wrong device clock can also cause rejections — most authenticator apps have a time-sync option.
  • There are no backup codes, so keep access to your authenticator app (or its own backup feature). If you lose it, contact support@gigtime.app to regain access.
  • To turn 2FA off, click Disable on the same screen.

Session timeout

Also on the Security tab: how long the app stays signed in while idle — 15 minutes, 30 minutes (the default), 1 hour, or 2 hours. Shorter is safer on shared machines.
