Billable vs non-billable
Every time entry has a Billable switch. It's on by default, and for most client work you can leave it alone. Flip it off for hours you want to track but never charge for — internal admin, sales calls, pro bono work, or that afternoon you spent fighting your own dev environment.
What the flag changes
Invoicing. When you create an invoice, Gigtime only pulls in billable uninvoiced entries. Non-billable time never appears on an invoice, no matter which client or project it belongs to.
Reports. The Reports page includes a billable filter and a billable-vs-non-billable breakdown bar, so you can see how much of your week actually earns money.
Exports. CSV exports include a Billable column (Yes/No) and compute an amount only where a rate applies, so your spreadsheet math stays clean.
Spotting non-billable entries
In the entries list, non-billable entries carry a small money icon with a "Non-billable" tooltip. You can also filter the list: open the filter bar and tap the billable chip to cycle between Billable: All, Billable, and Non-billable.
Changing it later
The flag isn't permanent. Open any entry and toggle the switch — unless the entry is already on an invoice, in which case it's locked like the rest of the entry's fields.
